PREFACE
 
The Placement Policies of the Indian School of Business for the Class of 2014, as framed by Career Advancement Services Office comprise the following details

These policies are applicable to the students of Class of 2014, prospective recruiters and CAS team members.

Career Advancement Services (CAS) - Objectives

Be a partner in Career Advancement of students to
    • build and develop relevant competencies among students for placements
    • enable placements for all students participating in the process
    • maintain strong relationships with recruiters
    • get more international companies to recruit at the ISB
    • increase the number of offers from recruiting companies
    • manage a streamlined Placement process, taking care of the interests of the students, recruiters and the School

Policies for Recruiters
The placement process is designed to ensure that both the recruiter and the student are able to spend quality time with each other and arrive at satisfying decisions. The Career Advancement Services (CAS) office at the ISB works towards ensuring a smooth placement process.
 
To optimise the recruiting experience, CAS follows a five-step process: 
  • Online Registration
  • Job postings
  • Applications (Expression of interest – EOI or Letter of intent  - LOI and Resume) and Shortlists
  • Interviews
  • Job Offers and Acceptances
Online Registration: Goto Top
Recruiters are required to register online at http://placement.isb.edu/recruiter/index.aspx. For any assistance in registering, the CAS team may be contacted at Placements@isb.edu. Recruiters are required to accept the terms and conditions by mailing a printed signed copy of “Terms and Conditions for campus recruitment” available on the website to the CAS office
 
Companies offering Experiential Learning Projects (ELPs) and wishing to make Pre- Placement Offers (PPOs) should inform the CAS Office and SEAL Office before December 03, 2013. If a student receives a PPO it will be considered as One Offer of the two which s/he is eligible for, and if accepted, it will be treated as an “Accepted Offer” and the student will be out of the placement process. All other companies would follow the Placement Process as detailed below
 

 

Job Posting, Applications and Shortlist

- Job postings can be uploaded by the recruiter on the ISB placement website

Students will respond by submitting their applications (Expression of Interest-EOI or Letter of intent - LOI and Resume)  according to the company’s deadlines
 
Companies are requested to forward shortlist to the CAS office or update the same in the placement portal at least 15 Days before the interview date. The CAS office will inform the short listed students

Blue Tag job posting: A job posting which clearly specifies Designation, Work Location, job description and total CTC (within a range of two lakhs) – indicating Fixed & variable portions there of without any ambiguity, is considered as a Blue Tag Job Posting. If the job posting is Blue tagged then the student applying to such Job Posting cannot negotiate on the offer made

Pre- Interview Process:
 
Companies can visit campuses to complete Pre-interview processes earlier to DAY 01 or date assigned. Companies cannot make offers on these dates. If companies are visiting between specified days, they have to visit both the campuses for conducting the process. Offers will be opened only after the process is completed by the company in both the campuses.
 
Policy for senior students
 
Senior students with 8 or more years of work experience needs a separate process, as they may have to go through multiple rounds of detailed interviews, considering their seniority. The placement process for these students will start from November 2013 onwards.

 

Job Offers and Acceptance policy:

-  The ISB allows a student to receive upto TWO offers In case the students decides to accept the first offer received, he will be immediately taken out of process. 

- To facilitate logistics for international companies / teams, who cannot come in during the regular placement schedule starting on December 13, 2013, CAS allows them to complete the process earlier. The dates could be fixed in consultation with CAS. Such firms will have to hand over sealed Final Interview Forms (FIF) & offers to CAS and these offers will be opened only at the end of the first day of Placements (December 14, 2013) 

- Companies are requested to process the Visa requirements and other travel formalities, for students who may have to attend an interview in any of the client’s international/domestic locations

- All companies are requested to hand over the filled in FIF ‘Final Interview Form’ to CAS, on completion of the process and to send the Formal Offer Letter within seven days, to the CAS Office


FINAL INTERVIEW FORM: To make an offer to a student, companies need to complete the Final Interview Form (FIF) 

• Part 01 - At the end of the final interview, if company representatives are considering making an offer to the student, they have to fill in the FIF with details of the terms and conditions subject to which the offer will be made. 

• Part 2 - The student’s signature confirms that s/he has fully understood the terms on which the company may make an offer. If an offer is made by the company the student will receive it as one of the two offers which s/he is eligible for. Student signature part of the FIF is not applicable for the Blue Tag Job postings

• Part 03 - On deciding to make an offer, the offer confirmation portion is completed by the recruiter and then the Final Interview Form is handed over to the Career Advancement Services (CAS) Office in a sealed envelope 

- CAS will broadcast the student status on the placement website at the end of each placement day. The current status would be made available in the placement portal 

- Students are required to confirm their Acceptance/Decline of job offers according to the company’s deadline mentioned in the FIF. The earliest offer acceptance deadline that a recruiter can ask for is the end of the next placement day

- All companies are also requested to keep the CAS office informed for all the final hires/recruitment they do within 3 months from the date of Graduation for the current class students. This would help CAS to keep a check on the offer reneging by the students

 o   You may use the student profile handbook as a reference to understand the diversity at the ISB. We urge you not to use the  handbook for short listing candidates

 
o   Please channel all communication related to placements only through the CAS office. (Placements@isb.edu) or the CR member as convenient

 

 

Payment Policy

In view of the escalating costs for providing placement facilities (infrastructure and web based services), we charge as below, to partially recover costs:

For first interview of the Placement process (on-campus, off-campus or any other method) in placement period or earlier –

-The ISB will raise an invoice for the Fixed Placement cost towards infrastructural support, plus applicable service tax (the existing rate for the current financial year being 12.36%) after the recruiting company’s slot is confirmed. A company’s slot will be confirmed on the basis of student tiering and the preference of the company.
 
- Companies are requested to make payments within 30 days of the invoice date.
